Queen Elizabeth under the Poplar tree
This is what started as a trial and
turned into a piece I like. It is simple in it's construction. One brush,
few colors,
I was looking for an effect. I got it. The majesty of a Poplar tree in the
middle of the summer is something to see. By this time we have forgotten
the mounds of leaves we raked up and are happy with the shade. I was
thinking of this as I started the painting. This watercolor is titled
Queen Elizabeth under the Poplar Tree. The whole idea came through.
Only most are looking for something else. I think we should stop to smell
the roses more often. What fun this was to paint!
