Tod Lindemuth
Tod Lindenmuth was born in, Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1885. He was a painter known for landscapes both marine and terrestrial. His culture was Pennsylvania Dutch. Tod grew up in and artists home, his father, Arlington Lindenmuth, was also a painter but made his living running a photography studio. Tod studied with Robert Henri and was a member of the Salmagundi Club and the Rockport Art Association. Lindenmuth exhibited regularly at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA)from 1917-1933. He started to visit the area around Saint Augustine , Florida in the 1930’s. He was also active in Provincetown, MA until 1941, and then retired fulltime to Florida in the 1960s, having spent his winters there since the 1930s. It was during this time that his work was included in the “Lost Colony School “. Lindenmuth described his "interest in painting is in the arrangement of natural objects with contrasting color and form, plus design in a semi-abstract manner." Paintings by Tod Lindenmuth are valued online ranging from 500 to 2500 US dollars.
